Fulton Hill Properties will restore this former school building to its historic glory, creating affordable loft-style apartments and revitalize a growing neighborhood. Located at 310 North 33rd Street in Richmond, Virginia, the Chimborazo School was built in 1905 in Church Hill, Richmond’s oldest historic neighborhood. This rehabilitation is within steps of Chimborazo Park, and is conveniently located to the downtown business and financial district, and VCU Medical Center by car, public transportation or bicycle.

Named for the nearby Chimborazo Park, Chimborazo School opened in September 1905, with grades one through seven in eight classrooms. It was considered to be handsome and well-arranged, embodying the most advanced ideas of the day. In 1911, an annex was opened to accommodate the growing population. The school was closed in 1968 and was converted to elderly housing 18 years ago.
